Products & Specifications

Are lamps (bulbs) included?

No. Lamps are sold separately, allowing you to select the most suitable lamp for your space. Recommended lamps are shown on each product page.

Which lamps do I need?

The required lamp type is shown on each product page. Carmen uses replaceable E27 LED lamps, while Salvino and Valentina use replaceable G9 LED lamps.

Why do you recommend 2100K lamps?

Following in-house testing, we selected 2100K LED lamps for their beautiful, extra-warm light, which complements the colour and character of our mouth-blown glass.

Are Crucial lights dimmable?

Where stated on the product page, our fittings can be dimmed when used with a suitable dimmable LED lamp and compatible dimmer.

What voltage are Crucial products designed for?

Our lighting is designed for 220–240V, 50/60Hz, unless otherwise stated on the individual product page.

Can the cable or drop length be adjusted?

Many of our pendant lights have adjustable suspension cables. Maximum dimensions are shown on the individual product page.

For extended drops or project-specific requirements, please contact our team.

Are Crucial lighting products tested and compliant?

Yes. Crucial lighting products are designed and tested to meet applicable UK and European safety requirements.

Our products carry the appropriate CE and UKCA markings, are RoHS compliant, and have undergone independent laboratory testing to the relevant safety standards.

Multi Accessories

Can Crucial pendants be used in multi-pendant installations?

Yes. Multi-pendant installations are an important part of the Crucial collection.

Our Multi Accessories range has been developed to make it easier to specify and create arrangements using multiple Crucial pendants, whether positioned in a linear formation over a kitchen island or dining table, or suspended at different heights through a stairwell, entrance or larger space.

The range includes multi-pendant ceiling canopies and extended pendant cords, giving greater flexibility when creating installations at different scales.

Please contact our team if you would like help specifying a multi-pendant arrangement for your project.

Is it possible to customise Crucial products?

Yes. For certain projects, we may be able to accommodate requirements beyond our standard configurations. Please contact our team to discuss your requirements and the options available.

Glass & Finishes

Are variations in mouth-blown glass normal?

Yes. Each Crucial glass shade is individually mouth-blown, meaning subtle variations in colour, thickness, texture, dimensions and pattern can naturally occur. Small bubbles or markings may also be present.

These characteristics are part of the individual nature of mouth-blown glass and are not normally considered defects.

Why is there a small opening in the glass?

Some Salvino and Valentina glass shades feature a small opening as part of their design. This allows heat to escape safely and is an intentional feature, not a defect.

Will multiple glass shades be identical?

As each piece is individually mouth-blown, slight variations between shades are to be expected. When several pendants are installed together, these subtle differences form part of the character of the material.

Why can glass finishes appear different in photographs and different settings?

The appearance of mouth-blown glass can vary depending on lighting, surroundings and the lamp used. Mirrored finishes, particularly Gold and Smoke, can show greater variation, reflecting the colours, light and environment around them.

We aim to represent each finish as accurately as possible, but its appearance may vary between photographs and in different interiors.

Will metal finishes change over time?

Metal finishes can naturally develop subtle changes in appearance over time. Humidity, condensation, coastal or salt air, heat, chemicals and unsuitable cleaning products can accelerate tarnishing, patination, oxidation or discolouration.

Installation, Care & Maintenance

Do I need an electrician to install my lighting?

We recommend that fixed electrical lighting is installed by a suitably qualified person in accordance with the supplied instructions and applicable electrical regulations.

Can Crucial lighting be used in bathrooms or outdoors?

Please refer to the IP rating shown on the individual product page. IP20 products may be suitable for use in bathrooms when installed outside the applicable bathroom zones and where a higher IP rating is not required.

They are not suitable for outdoor use. Installation should always be carried out by a suitably qualified person in accordance with applicable electrical regulations.

How should I care for and clean my Crucial lighting?

Switch off the power and allow the fitting and lamp to cool completely before cleaning.

Clean the fitting using a soft, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth. Do not use liquid, chemical or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the glass or finish.

Any electrical maintenance or replacement of electrical components should be carried out by a suitably qualified person.

What guarantee do Crucial products have?

Crucial lighting products are covered by a 2 Year Guarantee against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

Our guarantee is in addition to your statutory consumer rights. Terms and exclusions apply.
